Cooking for the world.
My story
I grew up in a family where food was love. Borscht simmering all Sunday. Fresh bread that filled the whole apartment. My grandmother's varenyky on special occasions. Food wasn't fuel โ it was a language we spoke together.
But I also grew up watching people I love struggle with their weight, thinking that healthy eating meant giving up everything they enjoyed. Sad salads. Bland chicken. Endless restriction.
It doesn't have to be that way.
After studying nutritional science and spending years experimenting in the kitchen, I discovered something that sounds obvious but most diets get wrong: the best diet is the one you actually enjoy.
Why Eastern European cuisine?
Because it's genuinely, surprisingly, perfectly suited for healthy eating โ and nobody talks about it.
Buckwheat. Kefir. Borscht. Fermented vegetables. Syrniki. These are foods that Central European grandmothers have been eating for centuries, and modern nutrition science keeps rediscovering why they're so good for you: fibre, probiotics, complete proteins, minimal processing.
My mission is to take that culinary heritage, adapt it for modern kitchens and modern calorie awareness, and make it accessible to a global audience โ in English, for the first time.
What I believe
- Healthy food should taste good. Full stop.
- Recipes should be honest about calories and macros โ but not obsessive.
- Traditional food cultures carry wisdom that modern diets have forgotten.
- Cooking for yourself is one of the best things you can do for your body.
